To be or Not to be!

In Hamlet soliloquy I think he is showing sorrow and he seemed confused and troubled. In the Branaugh verison he portrayed Hamlet as being confuse and frustrated. He used a knife to show how much is welling to kill himself. The way Branaugh toke out his knife and pointed at himself in the mirror built  such a suspense, Hamlet's uncle got scared even though he was on the other side of a two way mirror. In the Mel Gibson version I think he played the part very well. The setting they used I think was the best choice because it was in a catacomb. It was plain dark  with a glimpse of light shinnying upon his father's grave. And Gibson was looking towards the light it seem that he looking at god for answers. 
Compared to the modern version, Hamlet is in Blockbuster looking for a movie while the store is empty. So he is talking to himself in public but not really near anyone. To me I think the modern day Hamlet did not show any emotion towards anything he was saying. But he did use props that was very interesting like when he talks about death he would look at the movies that had death involve. In the background the television was showing flames and explosions when he was getting a little angry. Over all these three version did very good in this scene they used music and props that showed Hamlet emotion towards life and I thought that was great how they did that.

The First Ghost Scene

The actors who portrayed the characters in the second movie version gave suspense because while Hamlet (Kenneth Branagh) was following his father's ghost, the ground was breaking, the trees falling down and there was many explosions. In the first movie version with Mel Gibson as Hamlet they gave a feeling of sadness in the ghost scene because King Hamlet was tearing and felt heart broken.In the third version the music they played was suspenseful when Hamlet was talking to the ghost of King Hamlet. Within the three movies the lighting was very dark shadowy type. Also what I like about the most of the three movies was the the second version it had flashbacks with Kenneth Branagh staring as Hamlet, this made things clearer to me when I did not understand what they were talking about. In the movie staring with Mel Gibson it showed lots sympathy towards King Hamlet. But the most I could relate to and understand more was the third version it was more modern and I it used props like the handkerchief that King Hamlet used to clean his ear that was poisoned with venom.

  I think that the way I would intrepid this scene is by showing suspense at first then showing some sympathy towards King Hamlet and I would add some flashbacks in the middle. Then ending it with Prince Hamlet being frustrated and angry toward his uncle. In this scene I would focus more on setting and the tone the way their speaking. If I was making this scene I would want to leave the audience with a scene of sorrow and a sense of where Hamlet frustration comes from and a good idea of what the plot is going to head.
